Motorola Confirms the Moto Razr 2022 and X30 Pro Launch Date

Motorola will launch the Motorola Razr 2022 in China on August 2 and will also introduce the Moto Edge X30 Pro alongside it. Now before the launch, it has been confirmed that Motorola Razr 2022 will feature Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Separately, the Motorola Razr 2022 has also been spotted on Geekbench.

According to a recent Weibo post from Motorola, the Motorola Razr 2022 will be the first foldable smartphone powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The smartphone will launch in China on August 2 at 7:30 PM local time (5 PM IST). The myui 4.0 OS will also be unveiled during this event. According to rumors, the Motorola Razr 2022 will be available at a price of 1,149 euros (about 94,000 rupees). It will reportedly be available in Quartz Black and Tranqui.

In recent years, the company's approach to its foldable product line has been a mix of high-end and average specs. The 2020 Razr 5G, for example, was powered by a Snapdragon 765G 5G processor. The next Razr phone signals the company's intention to release a foldable phone with all the features of a flagship to compete with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4.

Samsung's next foldable devices are scheduled to be unveiled as early as August 10, so it's clear that Motorola wants to get ahead of Samsung. However, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event will steal the spotlight from Motorola's presentation with a series of product announcements in addition to its next foldable phones.

Meanwhile, the Moto X30 Pro is expected to come with a lot of new features. For example, it will be the first device to include a 200MP camera sensor, if Motorola's earlier teaser is anything to go by. It is also rumored to support 125W fast charging, which would be a first for any Moto phone. It will likely launch as the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra in global markets.
