WILD RUMOR Says That Apple Made a $50 Apple Pencil That Works on iPhone

"Nobody wants a stylus. You have to get it and put it away, or you lose it. Yuck. Nobody wants a stylus!" - Remember when Steve Jobs said that? Yeah, apparently Tim Cook didn't hear that part.

A new rumour, first posted on Weibo and shared on Twitter via DuanRui, claims that Apple was going to make a new version of the Apple Pencil, codenamed "Marker", for just $49. Incidentally, the latest Apple Pencil (Apple Pencil 2) is priced at USD 129.

According to the thread, the Marker does not take over the pressure-sensing technology in the higher-end Apple Pencil, choosing instead to use a chip to power the stylus from the screen itself, as it does not use the typical technology of the Apple Pencil. It requires no battery and is reminiscent of Samsung's S-Pen.

Don't worry, it gets crazier - Apple was reportedly planning to unveil this new Apple Pencil during last September's Apple event, which featured the iPhone 14. Yes, the plan was to make this new stylus work with the IPHONE!

Apple were so into this plan that they produced upwards of 1,000,000 units, ready to ship, then close to launch, ended up scrapping the plan altogether.

This story is utterly crazy, given that we are that close to a stylus that can be used with the iPhone. The whole thread is as follows. Whatever.
