Upcoming MacBook Pro could have a 20-inch folding display

According to reports by the Korean technology news site The Elec, Apple is reportedly developing a 20-inch display. It is not known for what purpose, but there is speculation that it is intended for a MacBook or a MacBook Pro-like device.

There are no concrete production plans for this project and it could very well be one of Apple's many technology or patent exercises. However, insiders suggest that the Cupertino, California-based company plans to launch 20-inch foldable products between 2026 and 2027.

The hardware will be developed in collaboration with a South Korean manufacturer (perhaps Samsung or LG?) and the specifications will be 20.25 inches with the display fully open. According to The Elec, it is very likely that the child of this project will have a shape close to that of a MacBook laptop.

The idea is that the 20.25-inch display will actually be 15.3 inches in folded form. Apple's current MacBooks are in the mid- to upper 10-inch range, while iPad tablets range from just under 10 inches to a low 10-inch-plus range, all of which meet the form factor of the new display.
